Commercial Fine Art welcomes Patrick Di Fruscia to our Luxury Nature Photography Gallery

Although Patrick’s Di Fruscia’s journey with professional photography began when an employer asked him to take photos of a sport supplement line, his passion for capturing unique landscapes developed while he was visiting Gaspe Peninsula.

“That day it hit me like some sort of divine intervention. I wanted to experience, see, and feel the beauty of our beautiful planet and photography was the perfect medium to do so.”

Since that moment, Patrick has worked tirelessly to perfect his craft.

Patrick’s photography has taken him to many exciting locations. His ability to embrace nature’s elements and adapt to the obstacles presented by each new location have resulted striking images from all over the world.

“Situations like a fleeting snowfall, storms, rainbows, or lightning are not something you can easily predict, especially when you are on assignment away from home. But when everything seems to fall into place and you are lucky to be on location when any great weather phenomena happen—it quickly makes you forget all the time you went out and nothing happened. I always strive for that moment when the perfect light embraces nature in all its glory.”

Patrick’s ability to capture temporary weather phenomena can be seen in More than Words and Emotions.

More than Words

More than Words “After a light snowfall, the morning sun peeking through the fog created this burning sky effect in the background rendering this whole winter scene a joy to behold.”

Emotions

Emotions “This was my first release from my recent trip to Hawaii. I got up early in the morning and headed straight to the ocean. I was very fortunate to have a small storm in the distance backlit by the sunrise adding intense dramatic light to my shot.”

Patrick has spent a great deal of time reading about techniques and studying photography, but his own unique style has begun to emerge.

“I love to shoot in way that it pulls the viewer right into the scene.”

In Sculpted by Nature II, Patrick demonstrates how shooting from a different perspective can affect a shot.

Sculpted By Nature II “I showed up at Antelope Canyon on a rainy overcast morning. This was a good and a bad thing…good because the place was almost deserted and bad because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to capture the famous beam of light that we constantly see in pictures of that location. Even if it has been done a million times, I honestly think that every landscape photographer would love to have one of these in his or her portfolio. Instead, I decided to make the most out of my situation and try to come up with some sort of composition that would be different from what I had already seen. I spent most of my time, trying out stuff without being satisfied with the results until I decided to point the camera directly above my head and saw this great comp in the viewfinder. I knew this was going to be an interesting shot. I was very happy to see that the brightly lit sky above combined with the long exposure created a “sunburst” type effect. In my opinion, this small but very important element is what makes it such a keeper.”

Desolate Beauty “Taken on my recent trip to Norway in a beautiful place called “Wet Valley.” It is easy to see why they have named it that way, but even with the rain and foggy weather, the scenery is spectacular.”
